Another "routine" check up?

The Thai king certainly "isn't getting any younger". The question is... is he getting any better? What was described by the Thai media as a "routine" check up just two days ago, has now turned into a worrying health issue for Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Little information is filtering through about King Bhumibol's real state of health, though the word on the internet is that the Thai king is suffering serious breathing problems and is on a saline drip. He is also said to have lost his appetite and contracted a high fever.

The media, meanwhile, insist that it's all just "routine". If you believe that, you'll believe anything! Funny how this news video doesn't mention Bhumibol's drinking problem. Don't look so shocked. Everybody knows the Thai king has a drink problem, and that doesn't exactly help when you're old, does it?

There are other issues which the media is not discussing. For example, is there a danger of another military coup in Abhisit's absence? And will king Bhumibol's death cause a crisis in Thailand, if there are complications in the selection of his successor?
