Long Live the Republic of Thailand?

There's an old Thai prediction that says that the Chakri dynasty will end with the 9th Rama, after which Thailand will become a democratic republic. In case you didn't know, Bhumibol Adulyadej is the 9th Rama, and the way things are going (and looking over Bhumibol's shoulder to see who's coming next) I'd say the prediction is close to coming true.

This interesting little video appeared here ThaiPresident, but don't bother visiting the site: Youtube has just shut it down. "Orders from above", perhaps? Anyway, I'll be posting a few of those videos from ThaiPresident's account which prove that, far from loving their king to bits, many Thai people would like to see the back of him and his "spawn".

ThaiPresident's brilliant videos challenged all those lies about the Thai king being "above politics", not endorsing military coups, not having a "voice" (and therefore needing lese majeste law to protect him), being a "modest" man with his dosh, in fact, the usual bullshit to justify lese majeste law.

Where would Thailand be without it's king? Well, judging by all the political upheaval since the 2006 military coup (endorsed by the Thai king), I'd say Thailand would be in much better shape than it is today. Would a Thai republic really be any worse than the Chakri fuedal dynasty where innocent people are sent to prison for writing books (Harry Nicolades) or making public speeches crtical of the monarchy (Da Torped0)? I think not.

Yeah, Long Live the Republic of Thailand! Why not? If that's what Thai people want... right?
