Chep Chuchai: Wanted for lese majeste

King Bhumibol is universally "revered" by ALL Thai people, right? Tell that to Chuchep Cheewasute (AKA Chep Chuchai). Until recently he was a popular radio host in Thailand. Then he had the great idea of speaking his mind on Thailand's royal family, especially the Thai king, rather like they do in democratic countries. The result? Cheep is now on the run from Thai police!

Predictably, Chep was accused of lese majeste, and in Thailand that's a very serious "crime". Thais are not supposed to question or criticise their divine king, those who dare to question their monarch's wisdom are hunted down like animals and thrown in prison. Remember folks, Thailand is different: universal human rights do not apply here thank you!
